So you’re driving along and your tire pressure light comes on. If you don’t know how to use an air compressor at a gas station then you might be able to go to a shop to get your tire filled or repaired. Who checks tire pressure for free?

Usually as a courtesy service most big-chain repair shops will check your tire pressure for free. Shops like, Midas, Meineke, Tuffy Tire, Firestone, Jiffy Lube, National Tire and Battery (NTB), Walmart, Pepboys and Monroe will typically check your tire pressure for free. Although it differs from shop to shop.

If you are polite and ask nicely most mechanics and tire techs are pretty nice. Who checks tire pressure for free? If you are no where near a shop you could try a parts store. Usually they won’t be able to fill your tire but they sell air compressors and gauges to service your tires.

Places like Autozone, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Napa, and Advanced Auto Parts will sometimes check air in your tire for free. If you purchase a cheap air gauge they might even guide you on how to use it. Where do you typically get your tire pressure checked?
