In this day and age you have to be ahead of the game in business to succeed. This is why automakers are constantly trying to find the new “thing” that makes them stand out from competitors. Futuristic styling is definitely on that list.
If you’ve seen the new Mustang Mach-E you’ve probably noticed it’s sleek appearance. In addition if you look for the door handles you won’t see them. Ford designers decided to stray away from the exterior door handles for a few reasons. To improve efficiency and decrease drag they decided that it would be better to remove the handles.
Engineers always want the styling to remain sleek and with exterior handles it would interfere with the body lines. But don’t fret! The key fob is not the only way to gain entry. Unlike certain Teslas which have a door handle flush with the door the Mustang Mach-E has a few electronic buttons that are integrated into the B and C pillars.
After you press the buttons the door will pop out far enough to reach your hand behind. On the inside of the door there is a handle that when pulled will allow the user to enter the cabin. With this futuristic styling Ford is really testing the waters. If they get good feedback it’s possible that some of their newer vehicles will offer similar features.
