When you go to the drag strip it’s not unexpected for you to break parts. When you are pushing cars to their limits something is bound to happen.
The driveshaft of a car more or less is what transfers the power from the transmission to the wheels. With a lot of power you need a driveshaft which is going to be able to handle the torque.
We found this video of a Chevy C10 breaking a driveshaft at the drag strip a few years back. The truck launches so hard that the driveshaft goes flying. It ricochets off the barrier before smacking the truck on it’s side.
Lucky nobody was nearby or it could have killed them. More than likely it caused some damage. Although when you race and build cars it’s just another day at the track.
