Jessi Combs who was a lover of all things automotive has sadly past away. You might recognize her from the popular tv shows Overhaulin, Extreme 4×4, All Girls Garage and Mythbusters. While attempting to beat her land speed record in Oregon a fatal accident occurred. The exact detail of the accident are not yet available but we do know that the team was possibly aiming for 600mph+.

Jessi was an inspiration to many by showing that you can do anything if you work hard. Last year Jessi obtained a speeds of over 483mph. Unfortunately there were mechanical issues which didn’t let the vehicle run again to obtain the new record.

Jessi’s family said in a statement, “Jessi’s most notable dream was to become the fastest woman on Earth” and that “she left this earth driving faster than any other woman in history.”

Jessi was a top graduate WyoTech which is a famous automotive school. In a industry dominated by mostly men she proved that she had what it takes to be the best. Jessi has inspired both men and women far beyond the automotive industry.

Some of Jessi’s co-hosts from Mythbusters and other shows have shared their love for the family. We have lost one of the greatest automotive icons but we will never forget.

Our condolences to the family.
