Woman gets hands pinned while changing a flat tire. Uses toes to dial 911

Changing a tire on the side of the road can be a daunting task. Especially if you haven’t done it before or lack basic automotive knowledge. Not to mention doing so on the side of the road comes with it’s own risks. You have to worry about other drivers not paying attention. You definitely don’t want to get hit by a vehicle going 65mph+ on the interstate.

One 54 year old woman is recovering in the trauma center of a hospital after she got injured changing out her flat tire. The woman was returning home from Florida when she got a flat. She jacked up the tire and removed the wheel. Before she could react the car fell pinning both of her hands.

Somehow she managed to remove one of her shoes and dial 911 with her toes. Her hands were pinned for approximately 45 minutes before the local fire department arrived with a hydraulic jack. That wasn’t before first responders deflated the tire thinking that would help the situation. Doing so pinned her hands even further.

She was given pain medicine and transported to the local hospital with an extensive injury. Have you ever changed a tire on the side of the road? Let us know about your experience below!
