Most street races happen on some backroads. Some even race on the highway. In most cases you make sure the road is clear. There must be enough road to race on and the driving conditions must be optimal.
A father and son thought it would be a good idea to race through the Lincoln tunnel. The tunnel connects Midtown Manhattan and Weehawkin, New Jersey. During the peak hours the traffic can be terrible in the tunnel. In addition the 35mph speed limit can make it seem like the tunnel is never ending.
It was night and traffic was minimal. The father and son thought it would be a perfect time to make a run. They raced their Chevrolet corvettes reaching high speeds.
The dashcam video shoes as the two speed through passing other vehicles. The younger driver, who appeared to not be paying attention, lost control and ran into another car. He then bounces off the wall and takes out an SUV.
Needless to say the crash could’ve been much worse. The son left the scene of the accident. We’re not sure if he was trying to avoid getting in trouble by abandoning the vehicle. The crash was reported and the son was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
He got off easy or so you would think. Well instead of leaving the situation be he thought it would be smart to upload the dashcam video to Instagram. Police caught wind and reopened the case. Instead of being charged with just leaving the accident both drivers got arrested. Also the father and son were both hit with reckless driving, reckless endangerment and illegal speed content.

Just goes to show that if you are going to street race you have to be smart and safe about it. Plus don’t upload videos that are going to incriminate yourself.
