If you had told someone 50 years ago that there would have been a car than ran purely on electricity they would have called you crazy. Zoom years later and we have cars like the Tesla Roadster.
Things are changing and everyone is looking for the next big thing. SkyDrive which is a company backed by Toyota has been using their time to develop their flying vehicle. The vehicle which is called the SD-03 is a flying car of sorts.
It has 8 propellers that provide lift. There are talks that the team is planing on making it an autonomous vehicle. Last Friday there flew it around a Toyota test track. This time it was driven by a pilot.
Although it is possible that it one day pilot itself. The video below shows them flying the craft around. While there aren’t making a crazy maneuvers it’s amazing to see just how close we are to making flying cars a reality.
