Hot hatches are popular all over the world. In most cases they offer an ample amount of power in a small package. Boasting good power the weight ratios these cars are very enjoyable to drive! Well Toyota recently revealed their new hot hatch.
At the Toyko Auto Salon car enthusiast were amazed when Toyota showed them the all new Toyota Yaris GR. The car has a 1.6L three cylinder engine. Even though it’s a small engine it boasts 268hp and 273ft-lb of torque. Toyota says it will get to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds.
Not only is the engine powerful but it’s mated to a six speed manual transmission. Not to mention it applies power to all four corners with a state of the art AWD system. The car has a Normal, Sport and Track feature which changes the power split. The car can be switched from regular 60/40 split to Sport mode where it’s 30/70 and in Track made it’s a 50/50 split.
The car has upgraded brakes and the differentials can be upgraded to a mechanical Torsen-type limited-slip differential. All this while staying under 2900 lbs. It’s unlikely that the states will get this pocket rocket but one can dream! Do you like the car? Let us know in the comments below!
